Bitcoin SV (BSV)
The Bitcoin Cash network experienced a hard fork on November 15, 2018, leading to the emergence of Bitcoin Cash SV (BSV). Users that secured their Bitcoin Cash using a Ledger hardware wallet prior to the hard fork automatically own an equal amount of BSV as they own BCH.
Manage your BSV with Electrum SV
BSV is not supported in Ledger Live. Instead, users can manage their BSV using the Bitcoin Cash app on their Ledger device in conjunction with Electrum SV, as instructed below:

- Install the latest version of the Bitcoin app on your device, since Bitcoin Cash requires it.
- Install the latest Bitcoin Cash app on your device.
Step by step instructions
Replay protection
The method below does not provide replay protection. Because the BSV fork lacks replay protection, you may risk losing your BCH when you use Electrum SV without splitting first. You should find a method to split your BSV from BCH before proceeding to use Electrum SV with the instructions below.
- Go to ElectrumSV.io.
- Download Electrum SV for your operating system.
- Select your operating system:
- Windows: move the downloaded .exe file to your applications folder.
- Mac: open the downloaded .dmg file and move it to your applications folder.
- Linux: follow these instructions.
- Connect and unlock your Ledger device.
- Open the Bitcoin Cash app.
- Launch Electrum SV from your applications folder. The install wizard opens.
- Leave the default wallet name and click Next.
- Select Standard wallet and click Next.
- At the keystore screen, select Use a hardware device and click Next.
- Select your Ledger device and click next.
- Leave the derivation path as default (m/44'/145'/0') and click Next.
Your addresses are generated and voilà! Your account balances are shown in the History tab. You can now manage your BSV from your Ledger device using Electrum SV.
Always start by sending a small test amount. Proceed only with larger transactions if the test transaction was successful.

- Copy and share the Receiving address with the person or service that will transfer to your account. Make sure you double-check the address if you copy and paste it.

- Enter the recipient address in the Pay to field. Please verify the address when you copy and paste.
- Enter the Amount to send and select the network fees.
- Click Send. Check the amount and fees, then confirm by clicking Yes.
- Verify the amount, receiving address and fees all displayed on your device.
- If everything is correct, confirm the transaction by pressing the right button to sign it.
